hormone balancing for men and women
Clinical Age Management Programs: Knowledge -- Prevention -- Rejuvenation
A large and rapidly growing body of scientific evidence demonstrates that a number of hormones decline with aging, and that these declines can result in many of the manifestations of aging. The first to be recognized, of course, is the precipitous decline in estrogen and progesterone production in women called 'menopause .' This is most likely because of the signaling of ovarian failure by the absence of menstruation, infertility, and relatively acute symptoms such as hot flushes. The other hormones that are well-documented to decline are testosterone in men (and, interestingly, women ), growth hormone , and the adrenal hormone DHEA . The decline in these hormones starts much earlier and is more gradual; however, because of the analogy with menopause, the terms andropause, somatopause, and adrenopause have been adopted. Melatonin also declines in many individuals, but a term describing this phenomenon has not been adopted.
Our revolutionary Clinical Age Management therapy balances Hormone Modulation, Exercise, and Nutrition to help you slow the aging process, deter the causes of disease, and achieve optimal health. Dr. Tyler will customize a program that perfectly fits your body's needs.
Now you can look forward to feeling and looking younger and performing better than ever. This is science and medicine applied to the noblest purpose of all…the enrichment of human life.
We do NOT replace the role of the family physician, instead we work with primary care physicians, internists and other medical professionals to provide the optimum in integrated care. This program provides opportunities to not only maintain, but to regain youthful vigor and live healthier, higher quality lives.
Dr. Tyler considers each and every individual as physiologically unique, and we do not subscribe to a "one size fits all" approach. Our program focuses on a customized approach that will address risk factors that, if avoided or modified, could have beneficial effects for reducing the incidence of and premature mortality from the leading chronic conditions. Our vision is to provide the latest in scientifically-validated therapies for reversing the aging process, preventing chronic disease and optimizing health.
Our Clinical Age Management Program can help with the following conditions:
Andropause (low testosterone)
Peri-menopause and Menopause
PMS and Premenstrual Dysphoric Syndrome
Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Somatopause (low human growth hormone)
Sexual dysfunction in Women
Sexual dysfunction in Men
The three core services that comprise our Clinical Age Management Program are listed and further described below:
Age Management Medical Assessment
Bio-identical Hormone Replacement
Age Management Medical Assessment:
The assessment begins consultation with Dr. Tyler that includes a thorough review of the patient's past medical history, family history, nutritional intake and present symptoms, and physical exam. During this consultation, Dr. Tyler will also discuss cutting-edge theories and science of age management and longevity medicine. Comprehensive blood tests will be ordered on an individualized basis to help assess which of your hormones need to be balanced or modulated in order to optimize your immune system, sexual energy, and overall mental and physiological function. A follow up consultation will then be scheduled to review the laboratory testing, establish the parameters of your individualized program, and answer any questions you may have. A third appointment is scheduled at the four month interval, at which time any needed laboratory tests will be repeated. It is common for Dr. Tyler to make adjustments to your program at this time.
Treatment regimens may incorporate bioidentical hormone therapy (BHRT), nutritional supplements, herbal therapies, diet, exercise and lifestyle changes all designed to help to optimize the patient's health, well-being and longevity. Our Clinical Age Management Assessment is designed to focus on the patient's individual risk factors, the root of the disease process and the implementation of science-based programs that are focused on disease prevention. Using the science of age management medicine, we will design a program for you that can actually make you look, feel, and perform younger.
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)
Hormones are involved in every aspect of human function from sex and reproduction, growth and development, to metabolism and mood. They support our vital organs necessary for life. As we age many of our hormone levels decline which starts a domino effect of aging. In turn our vital functions suffer, causing our vital organs to literally shrink and our bodies to slowly degenerate. Understand that the average individual's human growth hormone (HGH), testosterone, and DHEA levels decrease steadily on an average of 30% between the ages of 30 to 50. This decline can be even more dramatic in individuals given differences in genetics and lifestyle. Further, the average female's estradiol, progesterone, and testosterone levels decrease even more precipitously at menopause. Collectively, these hormones affect the stamina, strength, energy, libido, lean muscle mass, and low body fat that are the hallmarks of our youth. It's no wonder that so many people “feel old” by the time they're 50.
Hormone Modulation, or what is sometimes called Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), is essentially the science of giving your body back the hormones it loses with age. This therapy, when monitored properly by a physician, can maintain your vital functions, prevent degenerative diseases, and suspend and even appear to reverse the aging process.
Indeed, nearly 20,000 clinical studies around the world document the benefits of HRT. These studies suggest a wide range of effects when key hormones are replenished:
Reduced body fat
Increased muscle mass
Higher energy levels
Enhanced sexual performance
Restoration of vital organs
Stronger immune system
Increased bone density
Lower cholesterol and blood pressure
Faster wound healing
Smoother, firmer skin
Regrowth of hair
Our BHRT is designed to treat Individuals who suffer from PMS, menopausal symptoms, andropausal symptoms, loss of sex drive, chronic fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, depression, headaches, weight gain, persistent pain, or many other common conditions associated with hormone imbalance. The risks of not replacing hormones include elevated cholesterol, increased incidents of strokes, osteoporosis, Alzheimer's disease, menopausal symptoms, heart disease, more rapid aging, and other complications. Our BHRT program provides many benefits including:
Restored hormone balance and relief of related symptoms
Improved heart health
Increased bone production and prevention of osteoporosis
Enhanced energy and sex drive
Improved mental sharpness and better memory
Elevation in general mood and energy levels
Enhanced physical stamina and performance
Improved resistance to disease
Improved skin tightness and moisture retention
Decrease in wrinkles, age spots, facial sagging
Successful weight management
There has been negative press about HRT, but this revolves around synthetic estrogen or progestins – foreign compounds that the body does not make . Since they are not identical to human hormones they adversely interact with the body.
In contrast, bioidentical hormones are usually extracted from yams and soy then synthesized to a bioidentical form and formulated by pharmacies for the individual patient. The body accepts and metabolizes natural hormones as if it made them. Bioidentical hormone replacement has been proven to be effective in helping women lose weight, reinvigorate their sex lives, build bone density, improve mood, and fight the symptoms of aging.
Is This For Me?
The advanced Clinical Age Management program offered at The Center for Clinical Age Management is for anyone who is willing to spend some time, money, and energy earlier in life in order to reap the same rewards later. This is a lifetime program based in a large part on proper diet, exercise, rest, supplements, and just plain living responsibly. After a relatively short while it becomes second nature, but initially it may represent a significant change in lifestyle. For those that do decide to take the plunge, the rewards can be considerable. When you hear from the National Cancer Institute that a full two thirds of us who live to be 70 will develop cancer, wouldn't you like to know what can be done to help insure that you end up in the third that remains cancer free? How about being disease free across the board?
